3 Things to Consider when Launching a Product Online

3 Things to Consider when Launching a Product Online

1. Decide to Launch your product and commit to a date that is at least 3-4 weeks out. Time is your friend when it comes to organising any event whether its online or offline.

  • Tip: Beat the procrastinate bug by using a work plan or event checklist to help you to think through all the elements.
  • Pro Tip: Call us to help you with the planning 🙂 Send out guest invites at 7- 10 days before the event to give ample notice

#2 Decide on a Theme: Events are opportunities to engage with your audiences. Think about what experience you want to create. A good theme will align to your key message which is weaved in to all your communication material.

  • Tip: The theme for the Kotex She Can Campaign was “Champion Her Progress” this became the inspiration for everything; from the press brief to the main event.
  •  Pro Tip: To get the most out of your suppliers e.g. digital agencies, photographers/ videographers, sound technicians, printers etc, share your event theme in a joint briefing session as soon as you settle on the event theme and date. This will allow them to give quotes that respond to your needs and reduce on the back and forth.

#3 Decide on your Success Indicators: Once you answer the question “why are we doing this event?” Attach specific outcomes you would like to achieve. This will help you determine whether the event was a success or not.

  • Tip: Kotex wanted to hit 10k views with the #SheCan Live Concert. As Collins said in the interview, that number was hit and surpassed reaching 20k+ views.
  • Pro Tip: Our secret to successful events comes from a session we hold with our clients called a Pre-Morterm. Rather than a post-mortem which analyses all the things that went wrong after the ‘fact’. We take time to discuss all the things that could go wrong “before” so that we plug in the holes.

*There’s a lot more that goes into putting together a great event, but these three are among the most important building blocks. Guest of Honour, MC’s, Guest Numbers will all be determined by your objectives for launching and your theme.

The key lesson we learned from the Kotex SheCan Campaign launch in this Covid-19 season was to #KeepMoving #AgainstAllOdds
